Things Hap-Pen

Wonderful morning by the pool, halfway through a 10 min. object writing exercise, my pen runs out of ink. So funny.
Stop timer, run upstairs, get another pen, back to the pool, start timer, 5 minutes left.
"Ten minutes every day for at least six weeks. You won't believe what happens".  Hmmm...okay I'll watch my ink level.

"WINDOW SEAT" - Track of the Week

Written to resemble the style of a Burt Bacharach/Hal David song.  All tracks (except guitars) played on my now since replaced Korg Triton Keyboard. All vocals/instruments recorded and mixed on a Korg D1600MKII 16-Track digital recorder.  Originally had a female singer in mind to sing this.  (Check out my other Bacharach/David song, "Yes, Love")

"Window Seat" is the title track to my album "Window Seat" (What's that title again!!....)

**** Lyrics ****

Hey mister in the clean white shirt
Can you help me with my bags?
They're the ones with the tear-stained leather tags

I know I'm way too early, but I'd like to know
Is my flight gonna be on time?
Looks like my tears have all been cried

I'd like to get myself a window seat
They're saying clear blue skies ahead
I got a one-way ticket to a brand new life
Gonna get back on my feet again

Was really hopin' for a window seat
Up there so high
It's not so hard to see the reason why

I tell ya, you don't wanna know
There's so much that I could say
'Bout how it feels when your love gets thrown away

I don't want your pity just a friendly smile
It means more than you could know
Just one more thing before I go

CHORUS

Steve's On-The-Road Listening List

Last couple of days' on-the-road listening:

Retracing my musical roots with Kenny Loggins' 2nd and 3rd solo albums, as well as the Doobie "thank-you-for-the-stolen-guitar-licks" Brothers

Keeping current with John Mayer's latest. Revisited this one a few times.

Former Wicked star Shoshana Bean's latest.  Purposely retro-sounding. Amazing voice!

More Kenny                                                        Doobie Brothers
