CD (Re)Release! - Available Now!

Okay, time to make good on a promise (or threat!) from an earlier post about putting out into the cyber world my music for sale.  The masterplan was three different musical collections.  And so far...

Here's #1!  "a little unplugged"
Steve Probst: a little unplugged

I shall quote the album notes (I'm actually quoting myself since I wrote the darn things!)

"Faith-encouraging Contemporary Christian Rock songs with thought-provoking lyrics from Steve's earlier recording days. All instruments and vocals performed and recorded by Steve.

"'a little unplugged' looks back on the recorded archives of Steve's musical history, when all he had studio-wise to work with were eight tracks of recordable "sound-canvas". Playing all the instruments, singing all the lead and background vocals, "programming" the drums - he's done it all on this inspired early work and first release. There are many more in songs in the Contemporary Christian genre that he has yet to record!"

The CD (download and/or actual CD in jewel case) can be found by clicking on the album cover above.

"a little unplugged" CD download can also be found at:

GoogleMusic   iTunes   Amazon   Bandcamp

*** PS. I have chosen a title for Album #2.  It shall be named "Window Seat" after the song of the same name from that particular period of my songwriting and recording endeavors.  Look for it shortly at these same online locations.

Hey, Mom and Dad - I'm in the Paper!

Eagles salute comes to Sturges Center
By HOLLY LA PAT
Special to The Press-Enterprise

Eagles reunions may come and go, but Hotel California has been recreating the country-rock band's hits for more than 20 years.

"We do them exactly like the studio recordings," said band member Wade Hogue in a recent phone interview.

Eagles reunions may come and go, but Hotel California has been recreating the country-rock band's hits for more than 20 years.

"We do them exactly like the studio recordings," said band member Wade Hogue in a recent phone interview.

Hotel California plays Saturday night at the Sturges Center for the Fine Arts in San Bernardino, performing classics like "Desperado," "Take it to the Limit" and "Lyin' Eyes." The show also includes songs from the solo careers of Eagles members Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh.

To capture the Eagles sound, vocals are critical.

"To be in this band, you have to be a good singer," Hogue said. "You have to know about harmony and how harmony parts move."

Hogue performs keyboard, guitar and lead vocals for the band, with Dicky-Lee Dickinson and Steve Probst on guitar and vocals; Scott Fronsoe on bass and vocals; and Ken Nichols on drums and percussion.

Tucson To Home

Just got home this morning from about a two week stretch on the road. Last night's rockin' performance in Tucson (Sahuarita, technically) was a great send-off. I was hearing that it was a sell-out crowd at the Desert Diamond Casino. Thanks for the smiles dear audience members!

The professor hard at work somewhere in Tucson in the sanctity of his lonely room.
