"BRING IT" - Track of the Week

Purposely crafted this instrumental track to sound like classic rock in the vein of AC/DC for a pitch. It also has seemed to acquire a Free/Bad Company vibe. I had fun getting the guitar tones and drums to "sound like". I heard in a panel once about putting a little bit of distortion on the drums so that's what I done did!
Bonus: There is cowbell in this!
All instruments performed by me. Recorded and mixed with Logic Pro on a MacBookPro.

"A GIRL AND HER DOG" - Track of the Week

One summer day at a New Jersey park for load-in and soundcheck, I spied, across a wide open green expanse of park, a....girl and her....dog...interacting under a tree.  Purely on thinking it was a good title, I went from there with any kind of story line this song might take.
All vocals and instruments performed by me.  Recorded and mixed with Logic Pro on a MacBookPro.

***** LYRICS *****

A GIRL AND HER DOG

Looking out across the green
Not a soul to be seen
Just a girl and her dog

Just like any other day
Till my thoughts began to stray
Toward the girl and her dog

We spend our lives tugging on the leash
Whatever's out of reach looks so inviting
We wag our tails until the bitter end
Every now and then we think get our way

I turned away to watch the clouds
Dancing shadows all around
The girl and her dog

CHORUS

Like a bulldog with a bone
I can't leave well enough alone
And so this song
About a girl and her dog

"MAMA GONNA WHOOP YOU" - Track of the Week

A friend mentioned something to me his mom used to say, "Mama gonna whoop you"  So, used the title and went from there.  I knew this Blues/Rock song had to be fun with a title like that.
All vocals and instruments performed by me.  Recorded and mixed with Logic Pro on a MacBookPro. (That's a "laptop", for the non-techies) ;)

***** LYRICS *****

MAMA GONNA WHOOP YOU

Sneakin' out back
Kickin' at the cat
Boy you better watch she don't run off
Jumpin' that fence
Ain't makin' no sense
You know what gonna happen when you get caught?

 Mama gonna whoop you
 You better watch out
 For cryin' out loud
 Mama gonna whoop you

 Mama gonna whoop you
 Better you quit
 Here's a little tip, now
 Fear the boom boom
 Mama gonna whoop you

Comin' in late
Makin' that face
Hoping those puppy eyes save your neck
She ain't no fool
It's the dog house for you
You're gonna get a lickin' that you won't forget

BRIDGE

You act so tough
But it's scary stuff
When she's winding up

"WINDOW SEAT" - Track of the Week

Written to resemble the style of a Burt Bacharach/Hal David song.  All tracks (except guitars) played on my now since replaced Korg Triton Keyboard. All vocals/instruments recorded and mixed on a Korg D1600MKII 16-Track digital recorder.  Originally had a female singer in mind to sing this.  (Check out my other Bacharach/David song, "Yes, Love")

"Window Seat" is the title track to my album "Window Seat" (What's that title again!!....)

**** Lyrics ****

Hey mister in the clean white shirt
Can you help me with my bags?
They're the ones with the tear-stained leather tags

I know I'm way too early, but I'd like to know
Is my flight gonna be on time?
Looks like my tears have all been cried

I'd like to get myself a window seat
They're saying clear blue skies ahead
I got a one-way ticket to a brand new life
Gonna get back on my feet again

Was really hopin' for a window seat
Up there so high
It's not so hard to see the reason why

I tell ya, you don't wanna know
There's so much that I could say
'Bout how it feels when your love gets thrown away

I don't want your pity just a friendly smile
It means more than you could know
Just one more thing before I go

CHORUS
