"A GIRL AND HER DOG" - Track of the Week

One summer day at a New Jersey park for load-in and soundcheck, I spied, across a wide open green expanse of park, a....girl and her....dog...interacting under a tree.  Purely on thinking it was a good title, I went from there with any kind of story line this song might take.
All vocals and instruments performed by me.  Recorded and mixed with Logic Pro on a MacBookPro.

***** LYRICS *****

A GIRL AND HER DOG

Looking out across the green
Not a soul to be seen
Just a girl and her dog

Just like any other day
Till my thoughts began to stray
Toward the girl and her dog

We spend our lives tugging on the leash
Whatever's out of reach looks so inviting
We wag our tails until the bitter end
Every now and then we think get our way

I turned away to watch the clouds
Dancing shadows all around
The girl and her dog

CHORUS

Like a bulldog with a bone
I can't leave well enough alone
And so this song
About a girl and her dog

Vlog #6 - Song Preview: A Girl and Her Dog

Harking back to a previous post about some song titles being working on, well - we're making progress!  Here's an example of one of them that I'm laying the tracks down to now; like right now - over to my left!
Imagine, if you will...a warm Summer scene in a breezy New Jersey park. An idea for a song.  A lone songwriter's need for expression.  The outcome is hopefully listenable.  See you in the studio!  By all means leave a comment!!  Let your voice be heard.

Song Title Summary - Real Exciting Post Title, I Know!

With 2 hours to go till we reach are Florida destination, allow me to share some titles of song projects I'm working on all at the same time.  Most of these are in the process of being recorded.

The Interesting:

"Flirty In Flannel"
"Mama Gonna Whoop You"
"She Keeps Bees"
"A Girl and Her Dog"

I would call these titles the "Not-So-Interesting" because on first reading without hearing the songs they're just....plain, but hopefully made more interesting with the lyric and melody:

"Waiting On The Rain"
"Opened My Heart"

I think I've got Country (Blues, Contemporary), Alternative Pop, and Adult Contenporary covered here.

Honorable Mention goes to:

"Farmer's Tan" (country)
"Something Summer" (alternative pop)

I've grown partial to these two of late and they're real close to finished (of course that could mean days or even months of rewrites!)

Have any that you think I should work on?
