The Different Aspects of "Blessing"

I hear this question quite often: "Did you guys need to get approval from the Eagles to do their music in a "tribute" fashion?

Well, especially for playing at Disney, we do! Here's a snippet from an article in the Orlando Sentinel about our upcoming shows at EPCOT this month (as well as all the rest of the happenings at the Florida Disney Parks):

"...Getting a slightly later launch will be the Sounds Like Summer tribute-band concerts at Epcot. The rock lineup begins June 12 and runs through July 31. Disney insists these groups be up to snuff in their styling.
“They must be approved by the bands they are paying tribute to,” says Alan Braun, associate creative director. Therefore, when the group called “Stayin’ Alive” kicks off the event, it has the blessing of the Bee Gees.
Concert times will be 5:45 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. except on July 4, when the times will be 5:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 9 p.m."

Of course, the other "blessing" is being able to do this for a living. :)

Pool Party Anyone? - Article in Laughlin Entertainer

Okay, then.  Pool party, it is!

There's an article and interview just out about our show (Hotel California) coming up this weekend in Laughlin, Nevada at the Avi Resort Casino.  Wonder what boots and swim trunks would look like together?  Thoughts, anyone?

Elvis Was Here....and Barry....and....

"That's alright, mama,...that's alright with me...."

So goes the song running through my head and softly warming up my vocal cords during load-in and soundcheck on Wednesday.  Why, you might be asking? (I'll wait..........) (.....Moving on)

I had this little show I was doing with Hotel California on the huge LAS VEGAS HILTON STAGE FOR GOODNESS SAKE!  (Catch my enthusiasm?)

Yes, it was the very place where Elvis (you know, "Presley"?) appeared in the days of old.

This is where Barry Manilow had his "house gig" as well, before moving to the Paris.

A quick search on YouTube will reveal the vast number of show biz greats that have graced this stage.

Back to the present, below are some moments I captured on my less-than-stellar camera phone in which you can actually distinguish some resemblance of a photograph.  More may be on the way when I have in my possession the pictures taken by Kevin our sound man with his iPhone.

This is the last remaining piece of original stage Elvis performed on (Was next to the water cooler)

No need to take stairs to the stage!  Did Elvis ride is way to work here?   Mmmm, I suppose so.

Thanks to Barry for getting things set up for us!

"Looks like we made iiiiit""

So blessed to be able to say "dream gig".  Thankyuveramuch!

Pictures from Woahink Lake - 3 Rivers Casino Gig

Well, isn't this a nice view!  Thanks to Three Rivers Casino in Florence, Oregon, we were put up in a vacation house right on the lake!

In my continuous quest to stay productive while on the road, found a nice spot with a view in the kitchen to work on some tracks.

Trash In The Wind, Bottles In The Sand, and Music - New Video

A hobby of mine, something I do for fun w/iMovie when traveling on the bus. Take some bad phone video and photos of trash flying in the wind, add a dose of Mac Photo Booth video, and a song in my catalog, "Tyson's Well", that fits the mood. There ya have it! (Note: Empty booze bottles were not my refuse from the bus - the road's not THAT bad!)
